2021 Summer Intern - Embedded Software Engineer

As a member of the Embedded Software Engineering team, the Embedded Software Engineering Intern will participate in Brain’s development of intelligent, autonomous navigation systems for use in everyday machines. The position is located at Brain’s San Diego Headquarters.
Anticipated Project Areas & Learning Opportunities:
- Developing test frameworks to automate production image testing
- Developing automation infrastructure for tuning robotic control motors
- Implementing features that will eventually be deployed to thousands of Robots in our fleet.
- Building a tool to troubleshoot/debug Firmware
- Other duties and projects as assigned

- Hands on coding experience in C/C++/Python for Robotics products
We are seeking someone that:
- Is studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Available for the approximate period of May - September 2021, with a strong preference to be available on-site in San Diego
- Passionate about robotics and embedded software engineering
- Proficient in C/C++
- Comfortable developing in a Linux Environment
- Good understanding of operating systems and computer architecture fundamentals
- Additional qualifications here and below
- Has enthusiasm for the robotics industry and eagerness to work on new & challenging technologies and projects

- Experience working with microcontrollers

- Can read and understand schematics
