Human Resources Intern

Position Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) intern role provides an exciting and dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of day-to-day tasks and HR projects as a member of the HR Operations team. In this role you will support the HR Operations team in assisting with administrative and operations tasks related to file management, essential employment documents, benefits and wellbeing programs, and contributing to the development of compliance programs. In addition, this individual has the opportunity to gain experience in immigration support and continuing to evolve our internship programs, with a focus on program coordination. The HR intern will be provided with several options of projects to choose from, and will drive the project(s) from ideation to execution with a capstone presentation on achievements. 

Anticipated Project Areas & Learning Opportunities:

  • Immigration support and internship program evolution
  • Employee file organization, creation and auditing of  job descriptions, and I-9 management
  • Benefit communications
  • Wellbeing programs
  • Intranet refresh and internal comms
  • Process documentation
  • New hire onboarding program

The right candidate is:

  • Sophomore or higher level college student studying in the field of Human Resource, Business or Administration
  • Available for 3 months, approximately (June - September 2024)
  • Customer driven and demonstrates a collaborative work style
  • Self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to pivot when needed
  • Effective at problem solving and has strong organizational skills
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information

  • Experience in Google suite, experience with HR software (HRIS) 
  • Excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills
  • Interest in bringing new ideas and ability to drive tasks to completion

Salary Range:

The anticipated hourly rate for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $25/hour.
