Position Summary:

As a member of the Embedded Software Engineering team, the Embedded Software Engineering Intern/Co-op student will participate in Brain’s development of intelligent, autonomous navigation systems for use in everyday machines. The position is located at Brain’s San Diego Headquarters.

Anticipated Project Areas & Learning Opportunities:

  • Developing test frameworks to automate production image testing
  • Developing automation infrastructure for tuning robotic control motors
  • Implementing features that will eventually be deployed to thousands of Robots in our fleet.
  • Building a tool to troubleshoot/debug Firmware
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

We are seeking someone that:

  • Is studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Available for 3 months, approximately (June - September 2022) for Internship or 6 months, approximately (June-December 2022) for Co-op
  • Passionate about robotics and embedded software engineering
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • Comfortable developing in a Linux Environment
  • Good understanding of operating systems and computer architecture fundamentals
  • Additional qualifications here and below
  • Has enthusiasm for the robotics industry and eagerness to work on new & challenging technologies and projects

  • Experience working with microcontrollers
  • Experience with Python
  • Can read and understand schematics
